If you want to take your own family photos at one of the sunflower fields be mindful that the best time of day for pictures is typically in the evening when the sun will not be straight overhead or so bright that everyone is squinting. The best way to check out the current status is to visit each farm’s Facebook page. Some are blooming in August, while others are expected to bloom closer to Labor Day in early September. Be aware that not all places have sunflowers in bloom at the same time, since it depends on when they plant their seeds and what the weather conditions are.
